Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before submitting, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet the minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise, and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

1. Submission Process
•    Manuscripts must be submitted through email at journals@riphahfsd.edu.pk
•    Only Microsoft Word files are accepted.
•    Submissions must include: 
o    Manuscript file (without author details)
o    Title page (with author details)
o    Abstract and keywords
o    Declaration of originality
o    Conflict of interest statement
2. Manuscript Structure
All manuscripts must follow the structure below:
2.1 Title Page
•    Full title of the article
•    Author(s) full name(s)
•    Institutional affiliation(s)
•    ORCID iD (if available)
•    Email address of corresponding author
•    Acknowledgments (optional)
2.2 Main Manuscript (Anonymous)
•    Title (without author names)
•    Abstract (150–250 words)
•    Keywords (4–6 keywords)
•    Main text
•    References
3. Abstract and Keywords
•    Abstract must be clear, concise, and reflect the purpose, methodology, and major findings.
•    Keywords should accurately represent the themes of the paper.
4. Manuscript Length
•    Research Articles: 4,000–7,000 words
•    Review Articles: 3,000–5,000 words
•    Book Reviews: 1,000–1,500 words
•    Translations/Notes: as per editorial approval
Word count includes references but excludes tables and figures.
5. Formatting Requirements
•    Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt (English), Jameel Noori Nastaleeq, 15 pt (Urdu)
•    Line spacing: 1.5 for English, 1 for Urdu
•    Margins: As per A4 page
•    Alignment: Justified
•    Referencing Style: APA (latest edition) 
•    Quotations from Iqbal’s poetry must be accurate and properly cited.
6. Language Requirements
•    The journal accepts manuscripts in English and Urdu.
•    Language must be academically sound, clear, and free from grammatical errors.
•    Authors may be asked to revise language quality before review.
7. Referencing and Citation
•    All sources must be properly cited using APA.
•    Footnotes may be used for explanatory notes only.
•    Primary texts (e.g., Iqbal’s works) must be cited with precision.
8. Plagiarism Policy
•    All submissions undergo plagiarism screening.
•    Acceptable similarity index follows HEC and COPE standards.
•    Manuscripts with unethical similarity will be rejected without review.
9. Ethical Compliance
Authors must ensure:
•    Originality of work
•    Accuracy of data and references
•    Proper permissions for copyrighted material
•    Disclosure of conflicts of interest
•    Compliance with ethical standards for research involving human subjects or sensitive content
A signed Ethical Compliance Statement may be required.
10. Peer Review Process
•    The journal follows a double blind peer review system.
•    Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts.
•    Review outcomes include: Accept, Minor Revision, Major Revision, Resubmit, or Reject.
•    Authors must respond to reviewer comments point by point.
11. Submission Fee / Publication Charges
•    The journal currently follows a no fee policy unless otherwise stated.
•    If any charges apply in the future, authors will be informed before processing.
12. Copyright
 Copyright Ownership
•    Authors retain full copyright of their work published in Fikr e Iqbal.
•    Upon acceptance, authors grant the journal a nonexclusive license to publish, archive, and disseminate the article in print and digital formats.
•    Authors may reuse their work for academic, educational, and non-commercial purposes with proper citation of the original publication.
13. Withdrawal Policy
•    Authors may request withdrawal before peer review begins.
•    Withdrawal after review requires a written justification.
•    Unethical withdrawal may result in blacklisting.
