Metaphor serves as a vital component of literary art, enabling a deeper understanding of an object's characteristics by comparing it to another object or concept. Unlike direct comparisons, metaphors establish a semantic relationship, allowing attributes to be conveyed implicitly. In literature, metaphor provides a distinctive descriptive style, creating a hidden linkage between two different entities. This technique, akin to a simile, leverages likeness to elucidate characteristics more clearly and prominently, though it does so in an indirect manner. This article delves into Iqbal's use of physical metaphors, examining the semantic context of metaphors such as eyes, forehead, liver, and heart within his works. The study aims to explore and analyse these metaphors in Iqbal's discourse, providing insight into their significance and underlying reasons.
